Chelmsford Citizens Advice Bureau has been around for 75 years and there are many ways you can help us to ensure we can continue to guide and support people in the future.

Why Support Chelmsford CAB?

Chelmsford CAB has been a vital part of the fabric of your community. Today the demand for our services is greater than ever, but at the same time, we are concerned that our funding is becoming inadequate to cover our basic costs.

Bereavement, redundancies, ill health and relationship problems can all suddenly come out of the blue. No-one expects to find themselves in these situations. We are here to support people when they don’t know where else to turn – to explain their options, rights and responsibilities. As a charity we rely on your support. We welcome any financial contribution to the bureau, no matter how small. All donations are very gratefully received and help us keep our services going. So please consider making a donation today.

Corporate Support

Some of our work helps boost the local economy. Each year for example we help many people who have been overwhelmed by debt. This one aspect of our service saves businesses considerable sums in litigation and debt write-off. We need the support of businesses, both big and small; there are many things you can do to get involved.

Your gift however large or small will help improve the lives of people in your community. To give you an idea of how legacies can help, we’ve put together some examples. They’re not suggested donations, but they help to visualise the difference a gift can make.

  • £250 enabled a bureau caseworker to support a family through a complex issue- after five weeks it was fully resolved
  • £2000 allowed a bureau to recruit and train a new volunteer adviser who is now helping 250 people a year
  • £5000 enabled a bureau to install a new phone system and train a team of telephone advisers, helping over 1000 people a year
